Many people searching for a naturopathy centre near Pune are not sure what a stay actually involves. Is it a holiday? A hospital? Something in between? This article walks through a typical day at Shree Narayandham, a residential naturopathy, Ayurveda and yoga centre about 35 km from Pune city, so you know what to expect before you book.
What naturopathy is
Naturopathy works on the idea that the body can restore much of its own balance when diet, rest and daily habits are put right. It uses simple natural elements: water, earth (mud), air, sunlight and fasting, together with yoga, massage and walking. It is used alongside, not instead of, care from your own physician.
Why a residential stay
Naturopathy depends on routine. The diet, the timing of therapies, early nights and early mornings all work together. At home, work and family make that hard. Staying on campus means every part of the day follows one plan, and a doctor checks on you during your stay.
A day at Shree Narayandham
The day follows the traditional Dincharya, or daily routine. Times can change slightly with the season.

- 5:00 to 6:00 am: enema and kriyas
- 6:00 to 7:00 am: yoga and pranayam

Morning
Breakfast is at 8:10. Treatments run through the morning, and doctors see guests between 9:00 am and 12:30 pm. Power yoga sessions run at 9 and 11 am.
Midday
Lunch is the main meal, followed by rest, a short meditation and packs such as the mud pack or eye pack.
Afternoon
A second round of treatments and physiotherapy runs from 2:00 to 5:30 pm, with a fresh juice or herbal drink at 4:00.
Evening
A sunset walk, evening yoga from 6:30 pm, an early dinner and an early night.
You can see the full routine, with photos, on our Dincharya page.
Therapies you may receive
Your doctor chooses your therapies after a consultation. They may include:
- Hydrotherapy: hip baths, spinal spray, immersion baths, foot and arm baths
- Mud therapy: mud bath, mud packs and eye packs
- Heat therapy: steam and sauna
- Packs: abdominal, liver, kidney, chest, knee and throat packs
- Massage: oil, deep tissue, potli, salt glow and other therapeutic massage
- Acupuncture and cupping
The full list is on our naturopathy page. Many guests also receive Ayurvedic therapies and physiotherapy in the same plan.
The food is part of the treatment
Diet is prescribed, not chosen from a menu. Your doctor decides what you eat and drink each day. Tea, coffee, soft drinks and outside food are not served, because each diet has a specific purpose. Read more on our diet therapy page.
